My Friends, I'm a virgin here in blog land. But I just got a comment from a post I did in Feb 2009 for viagra. Bobo is fixed and I'm really not interested. Where do the mother effers come from and how do you stop them?
I KNOW my blog is popular I mean I have 1 1/2 followers so WTF?
Do I have to put one those 'what's the characters so the bots don't know' on?
Help please. It's only one but still disconcerting.

WTF indeed. Don't know quite what to make of that except that the people who author those bot things are downright creepy. Eeeesh!

I don't know much about blogger, because I use wordpress. But I have my comments set in wordpress so that the first time you post a comment, the comment comes to me for approval. If I approve, you may comment freely from that point on (until I block). But if I disapprove, then the comment never gets through.
Wordpress also provides a program that when you turn it on blocks spam comments before I ever see them. Believe it or not, that filter blocks hundreds of comments a day on my blog. Glad I never have to see them.
Bet blogger does some similar thing.
I think the Herd is talking about the Wordpress plugin called Akismet. I use it too and it blocks spam by the bushel. I would check and see if Blogger has it too.
Check on your blogspot dashboard. On mine there is a button that says Report abuse. I have never used it, butt I think that you could tell them about the nasty unwanted thingy there. Let me know if that works. Gotta run. the sun is out and it is WARM. I have moleys to gwalk. hehehe
Not sure. I switched to Wordpress from blogger becuase of spam and some other reasons. It blocks anything that looks like spam and you can delete comments.
That is annoying! You can set your comments for approval first and that way you get to delete them before they ever appear on your blog.
So far, fingers crossed, we haven't had a problem.

That's weird. We have not had much trouble with stuff like that but we do have our anonymous posts blocked.

I have the character Bot thing on my blog and have only gotten one spam comment. You can also set it to not allow anonymous comments and that might help. I just don't understand spam... it must work or they would not do it right? Who falls for that though...
