Sorry to keep you waiting...
I had every good intention of posting all the news but got very sick again. I've got my 'brand spankin new computer' (thank you thank you thank you Staci!!!) in hospital with me and when I get the cord to download the pictures I want, I'll be back. -- pam
I hope you feel better soon! Glad you have your new computer with you though... but why would you spank your computer? I thought spanking is reserved for naughty cats?
Thanks for your comment. As I said in the blog, I am not a fan of the head halter and I rarely see them being used properly (if there is such a thing). I don't think Mango is at risk of neck injury, but he certainly knows when it is on and I think it makes him more jumpy. Plus it doesn't fit him, just too tight, so I am going to stick with the halter for training (and sneak in the pinch collar at home - another tool that is frequently used incorrectly).
I used the head halter with my last mastiff. She never got used to it and it slipped off her nose more than once. I did not get ANY benefit from it either. If you've reached the point where you are in a tug of war with a mastiff then it doesn't matter what you have them hooked up to, they will win. Dexter has challenges with pulling, but I have never used a halter on him and we are making great progress, thank you very much.
However, for the sake of completeness, I did want to include it in my blog. Glad to know I am not alone.
2011 - We've decided that Papi didn't suck. Him dying surely did. We're getting along, getting old - dogs 8, me more than 8. Onward and...well onward is about all that I can promise.
